Natural contours using your own tissue
Implant-Free Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty without artificial implantsWhen thin skin raises visibility concerns
Zero artificial implant
No worry about inflammation, contracture or show-through
Natural height and line
Possible even for a low bridge
What is implant-free rhinoplasty?
This surgery uses your own tissue, rather than silicone or Gore-Tex, to shape a natural nasal contour. Options include septal, ear and rib cartilage. Your own tissue has good compatibility and can reduce material-related risks. It can be used to refine the tip and create a smooth nasal bridge.
Tissue options for implant-free rhinoplasty
The cartilage combination is planned around your nasal condition and desired height.

How the surgery proceeds
STEP 01
Can height be achieved without an implant?
Yes. Rib or diced cartilage for the bridge and septal or ear cartilage for the tip can create ample height without any implant. The RIBFIT™ technique in particular can bring a low bridge to a natural straight line or a gently curved one.
STEP 02
The advantages of going implant-free
Using only your own tissue fundamentally lowers the burden of foreign-body reaction, inflammation and contracture. There is no show-through even with thin skin, and over time the tissue integrates so that the nose feels natural to the touch. It also places no restriction on future pregnancy, breastfeeding or MRI scans.
STEP 03
Who this suits
Suited to those who have experienced or worry about silicone complications; who are prone to inflammation or have thin skin; who want a natural change; and who would rather have a balanced line than forced height. The combination of cartilage to use is designed around the height you want and the condition of your nose.
STEP 04
How the surgery goes
After assessing your nose we decide which cartilage is needed — septal, ear or rib — and operate for about 2–3 hours under sedation anaesthesia. Harvest sites are kept minimal and inconspicuous, and Dr. Kim performs everything from harvest to graft himself.

Frequently asked questions
There can be limits if you want a very high bridge or if the amount of usable autologous cartilage is insufficient. In that case we consider RIBFIT™ — a diced autologous implant — to secure the volume required.
Septal and ear cartilage are harvested within limits that leave function and shape unaffected: the shape of the ear and your breathing are preserved. The rib harvest is also made through a small incision and does not disrupt daily life.
Autologous tissue is retained semi-permanently once integrated. We allow for some resorption at the design stage, and after integration the shape remains stable over time.
