RIBFIT™ 리브핏

If silicone isn't for you — RIBFIT™

RIBFIT™ is KOWON's 3D autologous implant: your own rib cartilage, diced and shaped to fit your nose. It achieves ample height, a natural line and a comfortable feel without any silicone.

A 3D implant made from your own cartilage

RIBFIT™ is not about choosing an off-the-shelf implant. It is about building an implant that fits your nose, from your own tissue.

01

Rib cartilage harvest

Your own rib cartilage is taken through a small incision of about 1.5–2 cm below the chest. The scar sits where underwear covers it.

02

Dicing

Rather than using the cartilage as one block, it is diced into fine particles. This greatly reduces the warping that a solid cartilage graft can develop.

03

3D custom shaping

The diced cartilage is moulded into an implant that matches your nose and grafted in. Over time it integrates with the surrounding tissue and becomes one with it.

How is it different from silicone?

Material

Silicone implant

An artificial silicone implant inserted into the nose

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

An autologous implant made from your own diced rib cartilage

Foreign-body reaction

Silicone implant

The body recognises it as foreign and forms a capsule; contracture or inflammation can occur, though rarely

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

As part of your own body, the burden of a foreign-body reaction is fundamentally lower

Feel

Silicone implant

The edge of the implant can sometimes be felt to the touch

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

It integrates with the tissue and keeps a natural feel over time

Show-through

Silicone implant

With thin skin, the implant may show through

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

Being your own tissue, show-through is much less of a concern — suitable even for thin skin

Holding the line

Silicone implant

If contracture develops, the line can distort and revision may be needed

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

Dicing reduces the risk of warping, holding a soft line

Who it suits

Silicone implant

Those wanting a quick, straightforward augmentation

RIBFIT™ autologous tissue

Those who have had implant inflammation or contracture, revision cases, and anyone uneasy about silicone
