Recovery

Can I still use my CPAP machine after recovering from a nose job?

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Yes — once healing is complete, a CPAP machine and mask go back to normal use, and for patients whose rhinoplasty corrected a functional breathing issue, CPAP therapy sometimes ends up feeling more comfortable and effective afterward thanks to the improved airflow.

It's worth having your sleep specialist re-check mask fit and pressure settings once you've healed, since the shape of your nasal structure may have shifted in ways that change what fits best.

Consultation Tip

Bring your CPAP mask to your sleep specialist appointment after rhinoplasty rather than assuming your pre-surgery settings and fit still apply exactly as before.
