Hello, this is Hyung-taek Kim, Director of KOWON Plastic Surgery.
The case I will discuss this time involves a man who needed long nose rhinoplasty due to a hump on the nasal bridge and a nasal tip drooping downward, making the overall nose appear longer. He visited us with concerns that the shape of his nose made his overall impression look somewhat dark and sharp.
In addition, he was experiencing a combination of a deviated nose and symptoms of deviated septum, which caused not only external imbalance but also functional discomfort such as nasal obstruction while breathing.
"Simply shaving down the protruding hump is not enough; the key to long nose rhinoplasty is to straighten the central axis of the nose while simultaneously readjusting the length and angle of the drooping nasal tip."

First, the uneven nasal bridge line was neatly refined, and then it was shaped to create a straight and refreshing line that highlights the unique charm of the male patient.
The drooping nasal tip was elevated to a more three-dimensional and natural position through cartilage repositioning and cartilage tying, and a strong internal cartilage support was reinforced to prevent deformation of the shape over time.
"When elevating a drooping nasal tip, the most important thing is to create a stable structure by building a strong internal cartilage support so that it does not droop again over time."
While stably readjusting the proportion of the nose, which previously appeared excessively long, we also corrected the curvature of the internal septal cartilage, effectively improving the nasal obstruction.
By three-dimensionally refining the nasolabial angle and the philtrum line where the lips and nose meet, we helped achieve balanced and distinct facial features from any angle.

Let me also introduce the surgical outcome of another patient who visited us with similar concerns.
This patient also had an overall long-looking nose, and the nasal tip was pulled downward whenever smiling, resulting in an unbalanced facial proportion and a gloomy impression.

In such cases, at KOWON Plastic Surgery, we first performed correction to appropriately adjust the strength of the facial muscles that pull the nasal tip downward.
Next, using septal cartilage, we built a strong support at the nasal tip to create a defined three-dimensional effect, and applied long nose rhinoplasty techniques to naturally refine the nasolabial angle where the nose and philtrum meet.

As a result, the proportion of the midface, which previously appeared elongated, became noticeably shorter and neater, and even when making facial expressions, the nasal tip no longer drooped, resulting in a smooth line.
Through long nose rhinoplasty that simultaneously corrected the drooping angle and nasolabial angle, this was a satisfying case where the patient achieved a much brighter and more three-dimensional impression from both the front and side views.

Not just changing the appearance, but also the structure and function of the nose,
and even the changes in facial expression must be carefully considered and corrected,
only then can you achieve long-lasting and satisfying results.
When long nose, hump nose, and deviated nose appear together, simply refining the external appearance is unlikely to yield satisfactory results. Long nose rhinoplasty, which fundamentally corrects the center of the nose by precisely analyzing the internal structure, functional elements, and even the movement of each individual's facial muscles, is necessary to maintain unchanging beauty over time.
At KOWON Plastic Surgery, based on extensive clinical experience and expertise, we go beyond simple shape improvement to find the most natural and sophisticated line that harmonizes with comfortable breathing and the overall facial proportions. Through a personalized 1:1 solution tailored to you, do not hesitate any longer and achieve a confident transformation.
