Most patients are cleared to fly around 7-10 days after surgery, once the splint has been removed and Dr. Kim has confirmed your early healing is progressing well during your follow-up visit.
For longer flights, some patients choose to wait slightly longer, since cabin pressure changes can temporarily increase the sensation of congestion or pressure in the nose during the more sensitive early healing period. This isn't dangerous, but it can simply be more comfortable to wait a few extra days for a very long-haul flight.
