The nasal tip generally takes noticeably longer to reach its final shape than the bridge, since the tip involves cartilage and soft tissue that continue to settle gradually, rather than bone that stabilizes relatively quickly after healing. Initial swelling subsides significantly within the first few weeks, but subtle refinement in tip shape and firmness can continue for up to a year, and in some patients slightly longer.
This is a normal, well-understood part of tip surgery healing, not a sign that something has gone wrong — the tip is simply the last part of the nose to reach its truly final form. It's also worth knowing that the tip skin can sometimes stay slightly reddish for a while during recovery, related to how the skin is stretching and adjusting to changes in blood flow or gentle pressure from the surgery. This, too, is generally a normal part of healing. That said, if noticeable redness persists beyond 6 months, it's worth having your surgeon take a look, just to confirm everything is progressing as expected.
Consultation Tip
Be patient with your tip specifically during recovery — while your bridge may look settled within a couple of months, give your tip the full year before judging the final result, and don't hesitate to flag lingering redness at your follow-up if it's still noticeable past 6 months.
