Consultation & Candidacy

How long does the consultation-to-surgery process take for international patients?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

If you start with a remote video consultation, we can often move quickly — many international patients complete their remote consultation, travel to Korea, and have surgery within 2 to 4 weeks, depending on scheduling availability and how much lead time you need for travel arrangements.

Once you arrive in Korea, your in-person consultation — including the 3D CT scan and skin evaluation — typically happens a day or two before surgery, giving Dr. Kim time to finalize your design and giving you time to ask any last questions before proceeding.

Consultation Tip

The earlier you start your remote consultation, the more flexibility you'll have in choosing your surgery date and flight schedule — we recommend reaching out at least 4-6 weeks before your ideal travel window.

What follows is general guidance. The actual cause and surgical approach are decided only after an internal examination, a CT scan and a review of your previous surgical history.
