Does extreme heat or cold change how my nose looks after rhinoplasty?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Not in any lasting sense — once healing is complete, the surgical structure of your nose stays stable no matter the temperature, and any small, short-lived swelling that extreme heat or cold might cause is the same normal reaction anyone's nose has, rhinoplasty or not.

It's not a change worth building plans around, since there's nothing permanent or significant happening underneath.

Consultation Tip

If you notice mild puffiness after time outdoors in extreme weather, give it a little time to settle before assuming anything has shifted with your rhinoplasty result.
