Three things to check when choosing a rhinoplasty clinic — who operates, whether you can see the process, how deep the consultation goes
What to check before proximity or reviews when choosing a rhinoplasty clinic — who handles consultation through surgery, whether the surgical process is verifiable (CCTV access), whether consultation covers face shape·skin thickness·proportions. Three criteria organized.

Key points
- Before proximity or good reviews, check who handles the surgery. Same material, same method — results can still differ.
- Check whether it's an environment where you can verify the process yourself (CCTV access etc.) — that it proceeds as explained.
- Check consultation depth — whether face shape, skin thickness, philtrum length, and overall proportion are considered together. If a similar design is suggested to everyone, reconsider.
"I know I want rhinoplasty — but where should I get it?" "Wouldn't somewhere near home be convenient?"
Deciding to get rhinoplasty takes time, but the harder part is deciding where to have it. With so many clinics around, you agonize between somewhere near home, somewhere expensive, somewhere an acquaintance visited. Over 20+ years focused on rhinoplasty alone — from hump to arrow, short, bulbous, upturned nose, and revisions — I've always given the same answer to this question. There are three things to check.
01
Is a famous clinic always better?
Search the internet and information pours out. Many get swayed by stories like 'they have lots of followers' or 'celebrities have been there.' But fame doesn't necessarily mean it suits you.
If the schedule is packed and design gets decided through short consultations, fine consideration of each person's nasal structure, skin thickness, and harmony with face shape may be hard. Whether the doctor you consult performs the surgery themselves also needs checking. The result can be a nose that doesn't harmonize with your face or trouble breathing.
Rhinoplasty isn't mass-produced like ready-made clothing — it's finding the method that suits you. Even with the same material, you must weigh which method fits your nose and how to design it for harmony with your whole face — requiring that much deeper analysis and planning. That's why I operate on only two cases a day — to give each case full focus and care.
02
How do you verify the surgery proceeds as explained?
I often hear 'I hear there are many medical accidents — I'm worried.' Reading reported cases, it's natural for a patient to wonder 'can I really trust this place?'
That's why we operate an operating-room CCTV, installed so you can view it on request. Saying I consult and operate personally isn't just a verbal promise — I believe it only counts as trust if it can be shown actually happening.
- Whether it proceeds as explained beforehand
- Whether the same doctor operates
- Whether the whole process — from anesthesia through recovery — proceeds safely
Whether it's an environment where you can verify these three things yourself is the second criterion when choosing a clinic.
03
What should the consultation cover?
Everyone has a different face shape, yet oddly similar designs get suggested. But a natural, harmonious result comes from a design that comprehensively considers these factors.
| Factor checked in consultation | Why it's checked |
|---|---|
| Face shape | To judge harmony with the whole face, not the nose alone |
| Skin thickness | Even the same method can yield different results by skin |
| Philtrum length·overall proportion | Basis for designing nose length·angle |
| Complex and desired image | Setting direction within a structurally safe range |
That's why I set aside long pre-surgery consultation time — explaining what bothers you, what image you want, which method is structurally safe. For those who can't visit easily, a first consultation is possible via photos and video call, covering expected results and direction. Those in the provinces or abroad can also receive it without burden. If you're curious about actual results, also refer to before & after photos and reviews.

Summary — it's not too late to decide after checking three things
Clinic-selection criteria ultimately come down to three things: whether the same doctor handles consultation through surgery, whether it's an environment where you can verify the process, and whether the consultation looks deeply into your face shape, skin, and proportions. To build a result you'll be satisfied with for a long time from a single decision, sufficient communication about these three comes before fame or distance.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions patients ask before a consultation.
Convenience is a consideration, but what to check first is who handles the surgery. Even with the same material and method, results can differ by the operating doctor — checking whether the consulting doctor operates directly comes first.
We operate an operating-room CCTV, installed for viewing on request. You can check whether it proceeds as explained, whether the same doctor operates, and whether anesthesia through recovery proceeds safely.
Even before visiting, a first consultation is possible via photos and video call. Since we guide expected results and direction then, those with busy schedules or in the provinces/abroad can consult first and decide on a visit afterward.
Responses to treatment and recovery progress vary by individual. Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.
