What diet is recommended during recovery?

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Soft, easy-to-chew foods are recommended for the first few days, since chewing motion can transmit some pressure to your healing nose, and simple foods are gentler on your system while you're taking pain medication. Soups, yogurt, mashed vegetables, and similar foods work well during this initial period.

Staying well-hydrated and eating enough protein supports your body's natural healing process, while reducing sodium intake can help minimize fluid retention that contributes to swelling. Avoid very hot, spicy foods that could increase blood flow to your face, and skip alcohol, which impairs healing and can interact with pain medication.

Consultation Tip

Stock your accommodation with soft, easy foods before your surgery date — having them ready in advance means one less thing to think about during your first uncomfortable days.
