Anesthesia & Surgical Safety

Is sedation anesthesia safe for international patients?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Sedation anesthesia is administered the same way regardless of a patient's nationality — safety depends on standard pre-operative screening, proper dosing based on your individual health profile, and continuous monitoring throughout surgery by a dedicated anesthesia monitoring staff member, not on where you're traveling from.

What genuinely matters for international patients is thorough communication — making sure your full medical history, allergies, and current medications are clearly understood despite any language differences, and that you understand the pre-operative instructions (such as fasting requirements) clearly enough to follow them correctly. This is exactly why our international patient team communicates with you in English throughout this entire process.

Consultation Tip

Make sure you fully understand your pre-operative instructions, including fasting times, before your surgery day — ask your coordinator to confirm these clearly in writing if it would help.

What follows is general guidance. The actual cause and surgical approach are decided only after an internal examination, a CT scan and a review of your previous surgical history.
