Ethnic & Asian-Specific Considerations

Can rhinoplasty be tailored for patients from different countries and facial structures?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Absolutely — surgical planning is always based on your individual facial proportions, skin type, and goals, not your nationality or a generalized regional template. Patients from the same country can have quite different facial structures, just as patients from different countries can share similar proportions.

That said, Dr. Kim's experience treating patients from a genuinely wide range of countries and facial structures does inform how he approaches each case — he's calibrated his eye for natural proportion across a broad spectrum, which helps him avoid defaulting to any single "look" regardless of where a patient is from.

Consultation Tip

Come to your consultation focused on your own facial proportions and goals, rather than what's typical for patients from your specific country — Dr. Kim's plan will be built around you individually either way.
