Yes — removal of previously placed synthetic implants like silicone or Gore-Tex (ePTFE) is a routine part of revision rhinoplasty in Korea. Dr. Kim carefully dissects around the material during nose implant removal, taking care to preserve as much healthy surrounding tissue as possible.

After implant removal, the tissue underneath is evaluated for thinning, scarring, or any signs of chronic irritation from the material — this assessment determines what comes next, whether that's immediate reconstruction with autologous cartilage or, in cases of infection or significant tissue damage, allowing time to heal before rebuilding the nasal structure.
