Is it safe to get pregnant after having had a nose job?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

A

Yes — once you're fully healed, a prior rhinoplasty has no bearing on pregnancy safety whatsoever, and pregnancy itself doesn't disturb the surgical structure of the nose. The two simply don't interact.

A few patients do notice slight, temporary puffiness in the nose during pregnancy, which lines up with the swelling that can happen elsewhere in the body at that time, but it settles down after delivery and doesn't change the underlying surgical result.

Consultation Tip

If you notice nasal swelling during pregnancy, treat it the same as swelling anywhere else on the body — it isn't a sign that anything is wrong with your rhinoplasty.
