What happens if I have an emergency after I return home?

Published

Outcomes and side effects vary from person to person. Bleeding, infection, swelling and asymmetry may occur. Please consult our medical team before making a decision.

If you experience a true medical emergency after returning home — severe pain, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty breathing, or any symptom that feels urgent — go to your local emergency room immediately. Don't wait to contact us first; local emergency care should always come first for anything urgent.

Once you're safely being cared for, message your coordinator on WhatsApp — we'll provide your surgical details to share with the treating doctor, and stay in close contact with you throughout to support your recovery from a distance.

For non-urgent concerns — swelling that seems unusual, a question about your recovery, general worry — reach out to us directly on WhatsApp first, and Dr. Kim or your coordinator will advise you on next steps.

Consultation Tip

Save our WhatsApp contact and your treatment confirmation certificate somewhere easy to find before you leave Korea — having them ready removes one thing to think about if you ever need them.

What follows is general guidance. The actual cause and surgical approach are decided only after an internal examination, a CT scan and a review of your previous surgical history.
